Here are some explanations to help you make sense of what you’re seeing on this page.
AMV stands for "Anime Music Video."
Amv is a massive culture, with animemusicvideos.org as its core.
Simply put, it’s a huge community of anime, video editing, and visual effects fans.
And they use all of their passion and knowledge to make short videos using a variety of anime sources and all the world’s music.
They do it not for sale, not for profit, they do it because they feel it!
Some of them are real pro’s in video editing, motion design and visual effects.
I’m proud to have been a part of the Amv community!
And who knows, maybe I’ll go back to the origins eventually.
This amv was made for "AKROSS Con 2009."
After all my gloomy dramatic projects, I wanted to do something bright, magical, and out of this world.

I liked it very much, well, I like all of my works, otherwise I wouldn't have done them, but this amv gives me some pure magic vibes.

As always, I used After Effects. This time, a lot of attention was paid to color correction, to show the difference between the real and magical worlds.
This project was created in 2007, and it received third place in the "Drama" category as well as an audience award at “AKROSS Con 2007,” and the “Best Use of Instrumental Music” award at VCA 2008 on animemusicvideos.org.

At that time, I was a part of a little studio called "KECGROUP."
This amv was also entirely created in After Effects.

So much work on composition, masks, color correction, and vfx.
And all of that work is barely noticeable, but for me, this is the best part of vfx in amv: making them blend with the source, so they support the video, add something, but don't overpower it. This has always been my goal when creating vfx for amv`s.
My first serious contest, “ACROSS CON 2005.”
I started to do this amv halfway through the contest because the first half was dedicated to a project I never finished.
But it all went better than I expected.

I took second place overall and first in the “Drama” category.
Later, in early 2006, I won first place in the French offline AMV Contest with this amv.

Not bad for someone who only began video editing a few months ago, the same year he purchased his first PC!
There was a lot of everything from a technical standpoint, masks, color, correction, Vfx, but it was still my first year in After Effects, so I tried everything I could and had much more to learn.

Ps: Yeah, and this little verse at the end is my own composition =]
Nikko means “sunshine” in Japanese.

This was my last amv made for “AKROSS Con 2010”.
I wanted to make something light and cheerful.
And I succeeded!

A lot of in frame synchronization, some effects that blends into video unnoticeably, color correction.
At this point, After Effects isn't even a choice; it's a way of life.

If some synchronization is off at the beginning, blame YouTube conversion!
My synchronization skills are perfect at that point! =]
“AKROSS CON 2006”!
And here I am again!

After Effects, a lot of masks, color correction, and effects (hologram screen from hand, for instance), of course, besides pure editing.

Theme: Emptiness at it's finest.
This project is from 2007.

I just wanted to grasp that barely perceptible feeling of the beginning of some story that is yet to be written.

Lots of fog, color correction, masks, drawings (map), and rays.

I tried to create a video that flows smoothly from scene to scene, gently advancing like the dawn of a new warm day.

It's odd, but it wasn't created for a competition =).
After Effects!
My one and only unfinished project.

It was originally created for my first serious competition, "AKROSS CON 2005."
More than a hundred participated, and there were many talents, but I dropped it in favour of "Soul Shadow."
I just didn't think the level of emotion in this video/music combination was strong enough.

Nevertheless, I enjoy it.

Once again, everything was done in After Effects.
This amv I also made for a contest. It's called “VS Con.”
The rules were simple: three people, three days of work.
As I recall, I only made it for one day.

Again, I tried lip-sync, a bunch of colour correction, masks, and some Vfx.
Even though the lip-sync went a little weird, you must admit, for the third amv in my life, it's fairly good.
It was also 2005, so yeah, we had a lot of such contests and battles at the time.

Of course, it was entirely created in After Effects, and I began to like it.

About the plot, well, love, betrayal, and despair.
Well, technically this is gmv (game music video), but it still counts =)

And this one was created in 2012 for a competition based on the popular mmo Lineage 2 at the time.

It was made in After Effects and in Lineage gm mode version of the game, to direct camera movement, you may say I used UE even then. =)

I got 4th place for this if I recall correctly.
I made this video in 2005 to capture the terrifying feeling of approaching an impending battle and the hope for survival.

It was created entirely in After Effects.

Yeah, I know that for pure editing it might be wiser to use Premiere, but I figured that AE has much more capabilities, plus tons of effects that could be created even with built-in plugins.

And in order to learn AE better, I decided to do editing and vfx in it.

Also, this amv was created for some contest, but it was cancelled for unclear reasons, and later that year, this amv was released on CD with the game magazine "Gameland."

This was my second amv.

This time, I chose to experiment with a bizarre program called Adobe Premiere, which you may have heard of =).

It was a joy, a difficult joy, but nevertheless, everything was working as it should and nothing was breaking.

In this project, I even tried lip-sync for the first time, and it worked out fairly well.
This was my first amv, as well as my first time editing a video.

I don't remember the name of the program I used, but it was a pain to use!

Every time I closed my project, the audio/video synchronization broke, and I had to re-synch everything, again and over, until I'd had enough and published it as is.

But there was fair synchronization, I swear!! =)
